Mental Vacation

I think that's what I'll call it.  I've not been doing a lot this past week or two for the shop, but I'm getting back in the saddle.  I took a little mental vacation, worked on knitting up some toys for  my niece and nephew (still working on them...but they will be on the backburner),  made a lot of jam and jelly and now I'm ready to get back to work!

So, I hope to be dyeing towards the end of the week (weather permitting..heat might be an issue this week).  I have some  handspun in the works and ready to list.  I also have a few pairs of wristwarmers that are almost finished. 

Expect a shop update in a week's time (if not sooner!).  I'd love to aim for Saturday or Sunday..but at the latest, Tuesday of next week.  I'll keep you updated!

More Updates!

I spent a bit of the weekend and then some time today listing the Merino Roving I'd dyed and the three skeins of handspun I had finished!  I probably won't be updating the shop again until this coming weekend.  I have some Superwash Merino Tencel Roving and some more Targhee coming soon!!!

Here are just a few of the items I listed:

Corriedale Update!

I've updated the shop with some Corriedale roving today (after yesterday's BFL update).  I should be doing some 80 count Merino tomorrow and Saturday!.  Here's a photo of the wool all stacked up:

Back on Track...

I dyed some BFL on Saturday, Corriedale on Sunday and then fell ill Sunday evening into Monday.   So that threw me off by a day.  I'm feeling much better today and trying to finish some plying and then get on with dyeing some Merino.  I hope to start listing the new roving on Thursday at the latest!

Relaxin'

Today I'm kickin' back and taking it easy.  Earlier today I sat outside, knit and took some photos:

those are some of the grapes that are growing outside.  We have this awesome little patio/garden area that wraps around two sides of our apartment.  Loads of grapes this  year....I'll have to think of what to do with them!

That's just my ice water with lemon and a new pair of warmers I'm working on (Ok, so I didn't totally relax, I did do some work with the knitting).

I do have to report that a bunch of wool has arrived and I plan on  starting to dye it this weekend!  I also must admit that I hugged the bags of wool after I opened the boxes......fiber freak that I am.

All in all it's only 6 different colored rovings and 2 handspun yarns, but that's what I've got for now!

Tomorrow more wool arrives and I shall be dyeing off and on the weekend.  I hope to have a much larger shop update next week Wednesday!  Thanks for looking!

Today..

I have one more day to wait until the next batch of wool comes in for me to dye (I'll be getting Corriedale, Blue-Faced Leicester and 80-count Merino tomorrow....Next week I should be getting in some superwash merino/tencel blend...can't wait for this all to arrive!).  Today I plan on starting to photo the small amount of roving and handspun that I do have ready to list.  I should be updating the shop late this evening (around midnight Pacific time).  I will announce it here once it's up!

I also plan on mixing up some dye so it's all ready to go tomorrow!  I do love days when I get good amounts of wool!!

What's on the Needles?

Good question!  As the roving and handspun is drying, I figured I would try to catch up on some of my knitting.  I've got two pairs of wrist/arm warmers on the needles right now.  One I'm just finishing up the thumbs on:

I should have these up in the shop on the weekend.  I need to finish up the thumbs then give them a nice soak and dry.

The other pair I'm not so far along on:

I'm close to finishing the first of this pair and then starting the second.  So that should keep me busy while I wait for dry fiber to sell and spin!

Handspun Drying!
